Securing MS Access Database

Problem:

Securing MS Access Database

Solution:

We highly recommend storing your MS Access databases outside your website directory. This makes your database safe as it can't be downloaded via your web site.

You can create a "data" (can be called anything you wish) subdirectory directly under your home directory. Since this is not inside your website subdirectory, the files inside this directory will not be accessible to the world via the web.

By default your scripts should have write permissions to your database and directories, so no special settings are required.
